The fourth quarter began on April 7. We are in the home stretch! Our science theme is matter. We will investigate this
topic with a variety of literature and hands-on activities. In social studies we will learn about our ancestors and heritage.
Students will continue to learn to write in cursive. Each week two or three new letters will be introduced. However, the children
will continue to do their daily work in manuscript (printing). They will begin using cursive in third grade for their daily
work. Our math topics for this term include: multiplication, division, time, money, problem solving, estimation and place
value. Our Awesome Author is Peggy Parish and our current read aloud is Stuart Little by E.B. White. Assawompset School's
social theme for the months of May and June is sportsmanship.
